Broadening the availability of Surface RT and Surface Pro

The worldwide customer response to both Surface RT with Windows RT and Surface Pro with Windows 8 Pro has been exciting to see. Today, we are pleased to announce that, beginning in late March, we will continue our phased approach to the expansion of the Surface family of PCs into new markets.

In addition to its current availability, in the coming months Surface RT will be available in Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan.

Many people have left comments here on our blog asking about Surface Pro availability in other countries beyond the U.S. and Canada. We are happy to be able to tell you that Surface Pro will be heading to Australia, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the coming months. We will follow-up with another blog post with more details.

We are focused on meeting demand in current markets for Surface Pro and are working super hard to get new inventory into retail but recognize demand exists in other countries as well. We are committed to working with our retail partners to ensure we are delivering a great experience in the above mentioned countries for our customers.

More to come as we have more to share, but you can follow us on Twitter or like us on Facebook for additional updates.

Rumour has it that there are no plans to release the Pro outside the US due to all the technical is has.

Firstly - 'Technical is has?' English man, English!

Secondly - Where oh where did you hear this?

Thirdly - I know it's not exactly the Surface Pro but ... China.

Don't think so. Today MS revealed the starting date for the surface pro support in Germany. It starts on the 10th of May.

Also a german blog wrote about an insider tip that they got, that MS is planning to release the pro between 15th and 30th of May.

Lets hope that this sick waiting is over soon.

I guess that worked.  Finally got a response on this post the day after. Hahaha. Sorry for the grammar was bit drunk last night when I wrote this.  Was pretty sure I wrote "issues" after "technical".  Have the habit of being a troll when I'm under the influence.

I think it's a load of bull as the type cover has been released in the UK for a while now and is priced at £109.99 inc.vat on the MS store (not £150).. It's obviously done to increase traffic to his not so informative tech blog.

Would it be advisable to just buy the Surface Pro from Ebay, because i cant see the surface pro coming to the UK anytime soon. But then would there be warranty issues? Would my Pro still be covered even if i bought of ebay from someone?

We all know we can buy the surface pro from ebay. The problem is, due to MS not providing ETA, many of us do not want to have to buy from ebay then a week later find MS selling SP.  This is why many of us here are frustrated

Hey Surface Team, is anyone of you still here? No post for 9 days.

Come is it really that hard to provide your customers with some updates about the availability of the Pro?

Looking at other alternatives now, as I have waited long enough. Disappointed about the lack of information for the Surface Pro in the UK.

Wow, this is soooo disapointing!! I can't believe that Microsoft treat Australian's like this. A simple date range for Surface Pro would not be tough to manage. Like End April or Early May.

I give up!! Off right now to buy the competition as I have no Idea if I should wait another couple of weeks.

Good job Microsoft Marketing. You are a bunch of amateurs!

    Dear Microsoft

This is getting all very silly. That is all.

    Regards,

    Growingly impatient customer

Hi Surface Team, just want to say that I wont be one of those people who will wait in long lines or those who will preorder online once you do release the surface pro in Australia.  Instead, I will be waiting for the Panasonic 20" 4K tablet. Yes, waiting for the surface pro has allowed me to save money, for that I thank you.  Our IT manager just bought 100 dell latitude 10 and my friends and family have all bought in to android.  They have all moved on and are in discussed of the word surface as they compare their devices to the slow and inferior RT in display, sold at the local computer shop in our town.  They too will not buy the surface pro when it comes out so don't be surprised if you get a dead market when you do make a release.  It rarely happens that a really good product could die before it gets released but this seems to be a new trend in MS e.g. your new xbox's always online debacle.

No, you have not provided your waiting customers any information regarding the release date of an already available product.  You could not give a reason why you cant provide this information. Surface team, you have failed us in a way that makes people despise your product.  Yet, even though you are aware that everyone in the world who visit this blog can see all our trolls, complains and ramblings, you continue to fail by ignoring us.

Not even close.  OEMs just dont get it.  Its like they make new products from spare parts of the last one.  One look and you can point out all the stuff they got wrong.  Look deeper at the specs and it becomes clear the cheap taste the maker has.  Is it really that hard to make a window 8 pro device worth buying?

Now all this is even more ridiculous ! I posted yesterday I had a disapproving comment because you are really showing the worst of you failing to give us consumers a specific date for the launch of the Surface Pro and you also deleted the comment? I have no words ! Congratulations

Yes, I was wondering where that post went.  MS WTF?

I have to admit that I was surprised it lasted as long as it did; the language (swearing) wasn't really appropriate for a public blog. Perhaps you could re-post the sentiments with slightly modified language? Clearly there's a lot of frustration and anger out there, but we should remember this is a public forum.

That said, it's been another week and no specific date or information from MS; you have to wonder who their marketing team actually works for...

Nigel, you're right, and I also wonder excuse for the word "strong" that I used yesterday, but all of this, however, does not make sense.

When will it be sold in France this damn Surface Pro that I look forward to because the RT is not the desired product?

I wait, I'm patient, but if the problem persists, I'll see the side of HP ... Too bad because Microsoft chose my desire to purchase .... If I am told it is available, I buy desuite Grrr ...

    When is it?
