  • Surface Pro is to fat and too heavy. When Sony can make a upcomming Windows 8 tablet Vaio Tap 11 .with haswell processor twice as thin why cant microsoft?

Does anybody know if "USA like" QWERTY type cover (instead of QWERTZ one) for Surface Pro is available in Germany?

I assume the 256 gb + free Office version will become available outside Japan as soon as the product return/refund period expires on all the 128 gb devices they offloaded onto European buyers.

I just went to the MS Surface Store for Australia to check what's available here and the Surface pro page now has a price instead of "coming soon" but the "buy now" link takes you to the RT sales only page, there is still no option to buy a pro in Australia, was it released today or not??

256 gig Surface Pro with free Office 2013 and Touch cover released in Japan a week after release of 128 gig version with no Office no keyboard for same price... wow looks like Japan won the MS Surface lottery, why would I buy a 128 gig version with no Office an no cover when its released tomorrow in Australia?? when can the rest of the world get 256 gig with free Office??

Amazing, ordered yesterday, delivered just now. Unboxing and ready to enjoy. I know lots of people have had problems ordering via MS website but my experience has been stellar. Good luck to everyone else.

Has any one got the shipping information yet?

or are they waiting to Tuesday :( shocking!

And what the hell dose this mean on the order History ?

    "Status: In process"

I wouldn't worry about the In Process status.  When the Surface RT was launched, I'd received it and been playing with it for about 2 weeks before the status changed.

I bought another RT in February, the status updated quicker and I received an email when it was shipped so I could track delivery.

Hopefully the updates and emails will be as per the second one I bought, but if they're busy due to the demand it might be more like the original Surface RT order.  i.e. get the units out and worry about the admin later :)

From past experience though, once they actually ship them they tend to be here the next working day with UPS.

UPS are not too bad but I would think it wont be till Tuesday due to bank holiday so looks like Wednesday...

But you would think Microsoft would know how to make robust IT Systems, well the MS Systems I look after are :P (Exchange 2010 + DAG)

It works well when it works ;)  My second RT order went like clockwork.

Of course what we don't know is the stock levels, and how much of it went to stores.  We might be waiting for a shipment into the UK now to fulfil our MS Store orders, so could well be the 7 days safety net quoted, or if you want to be optimistic it's already with UPS and will be with you on Tuesday...or maybe somewhere between the two?!

Optimistic :D been burnt to much :D

Pity I miss an opportunity to edit my pictures on site for my Facebook page again :(

its a shame because allot of people in this circle use iPads or ones that can afford it MacBooks, but when I tell them about Surface Pro, well they are very interested but would like to see one first...

Microsoft should have sold Surface Pro in Dixons Group... would of got all the publicity they needed, but then might of created a bigger back log than we have now...

Wandered into my local branch of John Lewis on Thursday lunchtime on the off chance they had a Pro in stock. And struck lucky, bought the last 128Gb they had in stock. Seems an awesome bit of kit so far

  • Anyone seen the Surface Pro on PCWorld or Curry's web site yet? Any idea when they will be selling it?

Microsoft are having troubles don't think PCWorld would have any chance of getting it yet...

In future though Microsoft should just let PCWorld sell the device at lest they would of been able to ship the device to customers correctly

My Status is In process (what ever that is meant to mean)?

But delivery says 7 working days? which puts it at 4th June 2013 the latest due to UK Bank Holiday...

I ordered via MS website around midnight. All seemed to go without a hitch and confirmation email arrived around 4 hours later. Looking forward to delivery now. Best of luck to everyone trying to get hold of one.

5 hours and now they are telling me that I will have to wait till tomorrow, a Simple Email to all people that ordered a device saying they are having technical issues would be nice...

Think its time to write a nice letter the Microsoft Directly, totally unacceptable behaviour and there is no excuse in not communicating with paying customers...

Almost 6 hours to get an email to me :( just in-case any one else is waiting expect this time frame...

Still think this is unacceptable for just an email that says "Thank you for ordering" :S

Sorry Microsoft but you have the following soon

30 May - Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland

    31 May – Germany

And you would think you would of learnt from what happened in USA... lets hope the product is as good as the reviews...

Don't bother ordering through the Microsoft Store..

John Lewis offers a free touch keyboard, the Microsoft Store does not.

Is it just me but they decided to take back the touch keyboard... gutted!!! :(

I ordered when it was still on there website. I wonder when i pick it up tomorrow if they will still give me the free touch cover or claim it was an error. If i do get the free one then I'm returning the one i bought straight away :)

They'll say it was an error, although if you have a printout of your order, maybe it's mentioned on there?  Typing this on the Type Cover I picked up today, with my new Surface Pro! :D  Unfortunately, they didn't have any of the Surface Pro specific accessories in stock yet.

it does say "Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet & Touch Keyboard" on the email confirmation and just checked the my recent orders on JL and it says it there still as well, (FINGERS CROSSED)

no, I got it home to find only the surface pro which I'm using now, I'm not surprised but I will be contacting them to see if I can at least get something, even if its store credit. I they are hoping no one would have noticed, which technically I didn't lol

  • Just to let you all know, i've just ordered a 128GB model from John Lewis and it comes with a free touch cover for £799... Great value if you ask me!

I ordered my 128gb surface on john lewis website and was supprised to see i could collect from store tomorrow, which seemed really quick but i never noticed that the touch cover is included which makes it all that much better. Thanks for mentioning it :)

No problem, glad it helped out.  And don't forget, with John Lewis, you get 2 years warranty as standard too!  Looks life some of us will have a fun bank holiday weekend!

Definitely, cant wait for tomorrow now. My dad said john Lewis do the best deals and he wasn't kidding. I have noticed Microsoft are selling all their office products at about £20 off which is good timing. That's the only thing i have left to get for my surface.

    stephen89

The £20 off didn't last long. office is back up to full price again :(

Looks like the free keyboard offer didn't last that long either.  It's now listed as 'keyboard sold separately'...

Did you get your free touch cover Wafflesniffer?

Hi, yes i did, but not without a fight. I was expecting that it might not be in the box, so i opened it before leaving the store (Waitrose).  When it wasn't there I went to customer services and a fantastic lady got on to John Lewis and when I was told that all they could do was offer a refund, she was so disgusted, that she basically made them honour the deal. They eventually agreed to ship one to store for today. Guess I got lucky, but its worth a shot to try and see if they will do the same for you.  I have to say, this is why i buy from John Lewis, their customers service is usually fantastic... Good luck!

Inspired by your victory I just phoned John Lewis customer service and the lady agreed with me that I should have had a touch cover so she is passing me over to a department that can deal with it as it involves £100 and she can authorise that, so I should find out Tuesday when this department calls me.

Has anyone actually been able to buy one using MS store ... I just keep getting an error on the payment page telling me my card doesn't work when I know it does and I have more than enough money in it to get the Pro ... does Microsoft have a phobia of money now or something???

    danzel15

Did you manage to confirm it? I'm also having the same getting past through the payment confirmation page. It keep stating that there is an error occurring and need to refresh to a new browser window bla bla bla.... But I've used three different browser in two different computers.. Pretty sure Its not my problem right now... This is so frustrating :(

It's probably just a ploy...so they can say it's been released, despite the fact that nobody can get hold of one!

Gah figured it out. My bank declined the payment because Microsoft are in Ireland and they suspected fraud. Got it all sorted out now. Plus I wandered into John Lewis and what do you know they had three of them in stock. I'm now the relived owner of a 128GB surface pro wwooooooooooooooooooooooo
